Frances P. Gordon

Frances (Fran) Gordon, age 96, peacefully journeyed to heaven on July 20, 2025 at the Holy Family Home in Philadelphia. Fran was born on October 4, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Maurice and Ellen Weaver. Her loving husband, Thomas Gordon, preceded her in death on January 17, 1977.

Mom’s life was deeply rooted in faith and community. As a devoted member of Holy Innocents Parish, she gave generously of her time and spirit, embodying the values of love, compassion, and devotion. Her unwavering faith in God was her guiding light through life's joys and sorrows, sustaining her with quiet strength and grace.

She served as a Crossing Guard for many years in Philadelphia. She is fondly remembered by the many students she helped cross because of her friendly, outgoing nature. She was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching and cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.

She is survived by her children and spouses: Peg (Joe) Marshaleck of Narberth, PA; Kate (Paul, deceased) Carr, St. Johns, FL; Tom (Melissa) Gordon, Sicklerville, NJ; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving daughter, Theresa Comber (9/13/2012).

Mom’s life was a testament to the power of humility, resilience and joy. She taught us to celebrate the little things, to cherish each moment with family, and to find strength in the quiet acts of kindness. Her memory is a gentle reminder to look for goodness in every day and to offer unconditional love to those around us. May she rest in peace, and may her memory continue to guide and inspire us.

We like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at Holy Family Home in Philadelphia for the wonderful care of our mother. Their patience and kindness made an immeasurable difference – not only to her comfort but also to our peace of mind during a very difficult time. 

To commemorate her incredible journey and to celebrate the love she spread, relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral on Friday, July 25, 2025 at the Holy Family Home, 5300 Chester Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19143-4929. Her visitation is 9:15 AM-10:15 AM followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.
