Amber Marie Fisgaer

December 4, 2001 — December 24, 2025

Philadelphia

It is with heavy hearts we share that Amber Marie Fisgaer passed away on December 24, 2025, at the age of 24. She is the beloved daughter of Alan and the late Carolyn (nee Talbot) Fisgaer, loving sister of her twin, Ashley, and Jessica, devoted granddaughter of Carolyn (nee Lucas) Talbot and the late Maurice “Kevin” Bennett, and “fur mom” of her dogs, Kora and Dooley. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Amber was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. She was a 2016 graduate of Maternity B.V.M. Elementary School and a 2020 graduate of Bensalem High School. For her post-secondary studies, Amber attended Holy Family University, where she graduated summa cum laude in 2024 with a degree in criminal justice and pre-law. Throughout her entire school career, Amber took satisfaction in her learning and achievements and was known for her diligence, dedication, and devotion to high standards. In her time at HFU, Amber was heavily involved in her academic community. She served as a tutor and a lead student support in the university’s tutoring center, as well as a dedicated member of the Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams for all four years.

Above all else, Amber loved running. She discovered her love for it and began her track and field career in grade school. She continued in high school, where she found cross country. While in college, Amber achieved so much with her teams. Amber and her teammates made program history, winning the university’s first women’s indoor track and field championship title for two consecutive years. She was a natural and proud leader, serving as captain of both her teams during her senior year. To her, her teams were an extended family, and she treasured the memories they shared. She rejoiced in every success, whether personal or collective. Even outside of official team practices, you could find Amber training with her twin sister, Ashley. Amber ran with Ashley around the neighborhood almost every single day.

After her graduation from HFU, Amber started working as a behavioral health technician at a drug and alcohol recovery center in the city and grew to really like it. She enjoyed helping make an impact in the recovery of those struggling with addiction. Her kindness and commitment did not go unnoticed, and in the weeks before her passing, she received a promotion to counselor’s assistant. She was so excited to continue to grow her career.

Amber was thoughtful and loving. She was always willing to jump in and help with whatever was needed from her. Although she was sometimes known to be quiet and introverted, Amber truly came alive when she was with people she loved most. Being a twin to Ashley was one of the greatest joys of Amber’s life. As they had many of the same hobbies and interests, Amber found happiness in spending lots of her free time with her twin. She also enjoyed watching TV with her dad and sisters, listening to 5 Seconds of Summer and the Weeknd, drinking coffee and making trips to Dunkin’ and Wawa, and caring deeply for her dogs, Kora and Dooley.

Amber will be deeply and sadly missed by all who loved her. An Athletic Scholarship Fund in Amber's name is being developed. Please check back here in a few weeks to get the full details.

Family and friends are invited to attend Amber's funeral on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 9220 Old Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19115. Her visitation begins at 9 AM followed by Words of Remembrance at 10:20 AM. Amber's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. A funeral procession will follow to Forest Hills Cemetery on Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley.
